Bama Brown got into radio completely by accident!  He moved to Odessa, Texas from Alabama when he was seventeen. That's where the "Bama" nickname came from. Bama was trained in oil and gas and roughnecked on rigs and did almost every kind of oil-related job. He was in that business until he moved to Austin in 1988 when he was thirty and went into radio on Z102 as a part-time jock. He moved to mornings and did the Bo And Bama show for three years at Z and then went to KVET, then KASE, and back to KVET and has been here ever since.  Bama Brown was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame Class of 2020 and is recognized as one of the broadcasting greats in the Lone Star State. Kevin Garrett ran the fastest 40 yard dash time at the National Football League Combine in 2003 (4.31 seconds); he was then selected by the St. Louis Rams in the 5th round. He spent three seasons in the NFL with the Rams, Houston Texans, and Carolina Panthers. The Panthers signed and allocated Garrett to NFL Europa, where he played and was a full-time starter for the Amsterdam Admirals. Garrett finished up his professional playing career in the Canadian Football League for two seasons. Tim and his son Will were involved in a near fatal auto accident.  Tim's first sight of Will told him that he had lost him.  It was a terrifying moment that he'll live with for the rest of his life.  He was able to wedge himself out of the front door of his truck but immediately collapsed to the pavement when his feet hit the ground.  He'd had suffered serious internal injuries and couldn’t get to Will.  Seconds later a pedestrian came to help them and that’s when Tim heard what may be the best sound he'll ever hear in his life.  It was Will crying.  It told him that he was alive and that he hadn’t lost his baby boy.
